Charlie Harris began his career in Funeral Service with Hamric Henry in 1960 at the Water Valley Funeral Home. In March of 1961 Charlie moved to Dallas Texas and attended The Dallas Institute - Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science where he received his degree in Funeral Service and Embalming. Upon completion of his schooling, he returned to Water Valley to work under the leadership of Hamric Henry. This began a career that has spanned over 44 years. There was a brief time that Charlie spent in the furniture business in Water Valley. During that time Henry Funeral Home was sold to Ron Browning from Pontotoc, MS. In 1988 Charlie returned to the funeral business and was manager of Browning Funeral Home when they sold to the Loewen Group from Canada. He continued to manage for them after the fire destroyed the downtown buildings and formed the three-way partnership that purchased the funeral home and its property from Loewen, Inc. He serves as Manager/co-owner of Seven Oaks currently.

   Charlie was married to the former Betty Pass of Water Valley. They have two children, Chuck and Candice, and three granddaughters, Lacey, Brittany, and Terri Lynn. Chuck and his wife Anissa and step-daughter Courtney live in Grady, AL. Candice is married to Glenn Kidder, and they live in Jackson, MS.

Anthony Williams, Office Manager, and full service funeral professional at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MSAnthony Williams has been employed as an apprentice funeral director and embalmer with Seven Oaks Funeral Home since August of 2002. While working at Seven Oaks, he attended Northwest Community College-Desoto Center and received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service. He and the other funeral service apprentices, having passed the state board test, appeared before the Mississippi Board on October 21, 2004, recited the Mortician’s Oath, and were presented with a license to practice in the state of Mississippi. He currently serves as Office Manager and Full Service Funeral Professional and is a licensed insurance professional that can counsel with you in meeting your insurance and pre-need funeral planning.

   Anthony is originally from Vardaman, MS. He graduated from Calhoun City High School in 1989 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in biology and chemistry with a minor in Bible from Blue Mountain College in 1996. He then attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he worked toward a Master of Divinity Degree in Christian education. Since that time, Anthony has worked in several ministry positions while teaching in the Mississippi school system. Presently, he teaches the Adult1 Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Coffeeville, MS, where he has also served as a deacon and committee member.

   He is married to the former Julia Massey of Water Valley. They have two daughters, Bella and Brynna. Julia serves as the Minister of Music/Youth and oversees children's ministries at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville. Anthony and Julia are both enjoying building a life for their family in Yalobusha County and continue to look forward to serving the community through their professional positions and through volunteer work.

Wesley Vanlandingham has worked with Seven Oaks beginning as a part-time worker and assuming a full-time position in October of 2002. Wesley is a Funeral Director and is licensed by the state of Mississippi to sell insurance and authorized by the Secretary of State for pre-need sales. He currently serves as an assistant funeral director and as a pre-need counselor. Wesley has prior experience in the funeral profession, having worked in Vicksburg, MS at Fischer-Riles Funeral Home. He is a member of the Springdale Family Worship Center in Water Valley.

Wesley was born and raised in Water Valley. He is married to the former Amy Hernandez and they have five children: Shelly, Ben, Cory.

 

Tammy Moore - truly our Girl Friday. Whether it is cleaning the building, setting tents and equipment for services, or taking care of the grounds, she is always ready and willing to do whatever we ask of her. She has been with us for the past five years as needed and just assumed her full time duties in April 2005.

Tammy, the daughter of Wayne Redwine and the late Ann Redwine, was born in Water Valley and attended Water Valley High School.

Tammy has three children: Heather, Christopher, and Amber.
