James Lewis Walker

James Lewis (Jimmy) Walker, age 72, of Starkville, MS died Friday, February 4, 2022, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He was born December 19, 1949, in Water Valley, MS to the late William (Sonny) and Carrie (Lewis) Walker. James lived at Rolling Hills Development Center in Starkville for over forty years. While a resident there he enjoyed working odd jobs helping the staff, such as making coffee and folding newspapers. James loved talking on the phone to his family and visiting with them. When they visited he always inquired of them “What did you bring me”? He also enjoyed going to the store with the other residents, often carrying a new wallet, which was very important to him. A graveside service is planned for Monday, February 7, 2022, at Walker Cemetery starting at 2:00 PM with Binnie Turnage officiating. James is survived by one brother, Lynn Walker (Susie); and one sister-in-law Bonnie Dimock, all of Water Valley, MS. As well as his parents, James was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Walker; and one sister, Carol Joyner.
