Aaron Guy Baddley, Jr. age 90, died April 27, 2026, in Bruce Community Living Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 20, 1935, in Coffeeville, MS to Aaron Guy, Sr. and Mary Bell Griffin Baddley.
Aaron was a graduate of Coffeeville High School. He married his High School Sweetheart, Lennese Jones Baddley on September 2nd,1954, and moved to Memphis, TN to begin their 71 years of life together. In 1961, Aaron and Lennese took a big risk, opening and operating a truck repair business, Baddley's Garage. The Lord blessed his efforts, and he remained in business until he officially retired in 2011.
Aaron loved and served the Lord, not only in what he said, but in how he lived each day. His faith shaped the way he treated others, with kindness, humility, and a generous spirit. He dearly loved every member of his family and showed them what true love and commitment look like, not only in words but through his steady presence, sacrifice and care. He gave freely of his time, his talents and his heart, always willing to step in and help wherever there was a need.
Whether it was fixing something for a neighbor, lending a hand to a friend, or simply showing up when it mattered most, his life was a reflection of love in action and felt by all who knew him.
Aaron was a faithful and active member, in the churches he attended and a committed supporter of Calvary Rescue Mission, dedicated to rehabilitating those who need help from addiction by providing basic physical needs, clothing, employment and spiritual guidance and counseling services. He was a former member of Gideon International, and a former member of both the Delta and Chickasaw Amateur Radio Clubs. He was a member of the Memphis Fly Wheelers Association and had a passion for vintage steam engines. Aaron built, by hand, small-scale, operating models of many of his favorite engines and loved showing them at the fly wheeler shows. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Aaron valued education and was a life-long learner. He was largely self taught, he became a skilled diesel mechanic, welder, carpenter, electrician, plumber and craftsman. He never shied away from learning something new. He never hesitated to ask questions or seek out those more experienced, often learning from friends who were experts in their fields- listening, observing and applying what he learned until he mastered it himself. He was grateful to those who helped him. When he could, he paid it forward by helping, teaching and mentoring others. He had the ability and the determination to repair, build or create almost anything he set his mind to. He was never content to leave something undone if he believed he could figure it out.
Aaron also enjoyed sitting down with a sketch pad, designing his next project from handcrafted furniture to beautiful hand-made knives shaped from wood and steel, his work reflected both skill and pride. If something was broken, you could count on him to fix it. If it didn't exist, he would try to build it.
Visitation is planned for Friday, May 01, 2026, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Bro. Kevin Smith officiating.
