Angeline H Chandler, age 93, of Water Valley, MS went to her forever home Saturday, June 22, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born September 29,1930, in Chicago, IL to the late Clarence and Tena (Tiemens) Huizenga. She and her family moved to Water Valley in August 1970 where she lived on Central Street for the remainder of her life.
At the age of 14 she made the decision to quit high school and go to Business College. Upon graduation she started working in the insurance business, then later worked at Yalobusha General Hospital where she worked as a secretary for Dr. Spears, Dr. Odom, and Dr. Joe Walker.
Angeline was a lover of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was also an avid reader, with the Bible being her favorite book.
She loved her church family at First Methodist and was a longtime faithful member, attending every Sunday. She lived her life always pointing her children and their children to Jesus. She was strong, faithful, and persevered through many trials in her life.
She leaves behind her three daughters; Cynthia Tate of Water Valley, Cathy Aldy of Tupelo, MS, Cheryl Cotten ( Harold) of Winona, Ms.; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Broertjes of DeMontte, Indiana, Joan Huizenga (George) of Palos Heights, IL; and one brother, John Huizenga (Donna) in Henderson, IL.
Angeline was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Chandler, her parents, two brothers, Clarence Jr., and Gerritt Huizenga, and one sister Bella Reed.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in the Gardner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a Funeral Service following at 11:00 AM.
