With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Hervey, a beloved figure in our community, who left us on October 27, 2025, just shy of his 91st birthday. Born on November 28, 1934, in Water Valley, Mississippi, Charles devoted his life to working hard in road maintenance, building the very paths that connect us. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family.
A laborer by trade, Charles worked tirelessly until the age of 72, exemplifying a remarkable work ethic that spoke to his dedication and resilience. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-singing and dancing to the rhythm of the music, filling the air with his joyful spirit and laughter. Charles had a special bond with his family, always prioritizing their happiness and cherishing the moments spent together.
Charles is survived by six children, Ruby Barr, Charles Hervey, Willie Hervey, Theresa Hervey, Chris Hervey, Craig Baker; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Gracie Mae Hervey; and a host of other loving family.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Ira and Everlina (Walton) Hervey; his wife, Ruby Lee (Caldwell) Hervey; two children, Linda Morgan and David Hervey; one grandchild, Katrina Barr; six brothers; and three sisters.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering commitment to family that will resonate with us all.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2025 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home. A wake will be held two hours prior to the service. Join us in remembering Charles with honor and reverence, as we say our final goodbyes. His spirit will live on in our hearts, and his memory will be celebrated through the family he cherished so dearly.
