Doris "Dot" Hardy Forsyth

Water Valley- Mrs. Doris (Dot) Hardy Forsyth passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at the Yalobusha Nursing Home. She was born November 17,1933 to Lena and Griffin Hardy of Water Valley, MS. She was married to the late Wallace Forsyth, Jr, and together had 2 sons, John and Paul Forsyth.

Dot was a member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also served with the Water Valley Pink Ladies Auxiliary. Dot loved spending time with her friends playing Rook and was an avid Ole Miss Lady Rebel Basketball fan.

She was employed for 36 years with the Yalobusha County Superintendent of Education as a bookkeeper and retired in 1991.

Survivors include both her sons, a daughter-in-law, Janice Romasco, and a grandson, Griff Forsyth. Other Survivors include 2 sisters, Nancy Wooten and Julia Thompson of Water Valley, as well as a beloved niece, Marvelene McCullar of Senatobia, MS, and special cousins Darla Camp Clayton and Ted Camp. Dot is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside service is being held on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023, officiated by Pastor Freddie Moorman at Oak Hill Cemetery at 10:00 am.
