Hattie Eldora Walls

Hattie Eldora Walls, age 91, of Water Valley, MS died Monday, November 16, 2020, at her home. One of eight children, she was born to the late Cleveland and Hattie (Person) Alexander August 29, 1929, in Water Valley, MS. For fifteen years, Hattie Worked at Motts Inc. until her decision to stay home and serve her family. Her family and church were very important to her. She was a life long member of Pine Gove M.B. Church where she served The Lord as a church mother and choir member. She loved to share her voice by singing solos in church, which she did until recently when her health began to fail. Known as the “Pie Lady” she loved to cook her famous fried pies, sing, read her Bible, and quilt. She will be greatly missed.

A wake is planned for Friday, November 20, 2020, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will begin at 12:00 Noon Saturday November 21, 2020 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Robert Reed officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove church Cemetery.

Hattie is survived by one son, Melvin Walls (Sue) of Water Valley; two daughters, Hattie Caldwell (Rual) of Memphis, TN, Katie Carr (Raymond) of Water Valley; twenty four grandchildren, twenty five great- grandchildren, and six great-great-grands.

Preceding Hattie in death were her parents; her husband of seventy-five years, John Walls Sr; two sons, John Walls Jr, L.C. Walls; two daughters, Brenda Walls, Helen Walls; two brothers, Cleveland Alexander, James Alexander; and five sisters, Louise Tedford, Merle Lawrence, Pauline Lewis, Mable Hervy, and Helen Mott.

Seven Oaks Funeral Home’s number one priority during these unprecedented times, is the health of our staff, our families, our visitors, and our community. With this in mind, we are adhering to guidelines set forth by the CDC, Gov. Tate Reeves, and the Mississippi Department of Health. We are also asking everyone to comply with the required social distancing space of six feet, as well as advising against intimate contact such as, hand-shaking, hugging, and kissing. The use of face masks is required at this time.
