It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanette Dean Callahan, who left this world peacefully at home on July 18, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on May 29, 1943, in Water Valley, Mississippi, Dean was a cherished member of her community, known for her unwavering faith, generosity, and nurturing spirit.
Dean was married for 59 wonderful years to her beloved husband, Robert Callahan, Sr. Together, they created a loving home where they thrived as partners, both in life and business. For 50 years, they owned and operated Callahan's Quick Print, a beloved fixture in the community until its closing in 2022. Their commitment to one another was mirrored in their devotion to Campground Baptist Church and Anchor Baptist Church, where they were active members, enriching the lives of many through their faith and service.
A devoted mother, Dean is survived by her sons, Glen (Christy) Callahan, Stacy (Billie) Callahan; and daughter Stephanie (Scott) Mills. She found joy in her grandchildren, including Leslie-Brooke Singletery, Jack-Tyler Singletery, Macon Allen Callahan, Jordan Leigh Callahan, Emilee Clare Callahan, Sadie Rowen Callahan, all of whom she deeply adored. She is also survived by her dear sisters Clemmie Callahan and Jerleen Harris, who will miss her dearly.
Dean was known for her proper demeanor, godly character, and passion for life. She loved reading her Bible and Southern Living magazine, and she cherished her flower gardening, taking great joy in decorating her home for the changing seasons where she would entertain family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
In addition to her parents, Carmon and Lucille Mathis, Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Callahan, Sr.; one son Robert Lee Callahan, Jr.; and one sister Shirley Jones.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dean's remarkable life during the following services:
The family will receive friends at Anchor Baptist Church Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. With a Graveside Service to follow at Camp Ground Cemetery at 11:30 AM, where she will be laid to rest between her devoted husband and son.
In this time of sorrow, we gather not only to mourn Jeanette's passing but to celebrate a life well-lived-a life that touched many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory forever shine brightly among us, guiding us with the love and grace she so generously shared.
