It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Clyde Easley, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, who departed this life on June 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on February 5, 1943, in Marks, Mississippi, John exemplified a strong will and a charismatic spirit that touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
A proud graduate of Water Valley High School, Class of 1961, John began a life devoted to service, first with honor in the United States Navy. His dedication to his country led him to fight courageous battles, including responding to forest fires in Idaho and embarking on thrilling prairie dog hunting expeditions in Nebraska. After his service, John transitioned into law enforcement, proudly serving as a patrol officer and focusing on community involvement through local charities.
In addition to his commitment to law enforcement, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished time spent hunting and fishing, and he was a passionate gun collector. His vibrant personality and love for making others smile often made him the center of attention, and he thrived in the delight of sharing experiences with family and friends.
John is survived by his loving daughter, Lani Easley (Thomas Ward), and his cherished grandchild, Varian "Pax" Ward. He will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law, Margie Pilcher, and his cousin, Carl Easley from Flowood, Mississippi.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Donie Easley; devoted wife, Carolyn Easley; sister, Mary Nell; as well as his half-siblings, Mark and Sue.
Funeral services will be held to honor John's life at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on June 10, 2026. A family viewing will take place at 8:00 AM, followed by a visitation for friends and loved ones at 9:00 AM. The funeral service will commence at 10:00 AM, where we will gather to celebrate the legacy of a remarkable man, whose impact will resonate within our hearts forever.
As we remember John Clyde Easley, let us hold fast to the joy he spread and the love he shared. May his spirit continue to guide us, and may he rest in eternal peace.
