Karan "Kay" Lawler

Karan “Kay“ Lawler, age 74, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Tuesday, November 28, 2018 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. She was born February 1, 1944 in Memphis, TN to the late Alburn and Inez Church and worked as a bookkeeper until she and her husband Larry bought and ran Lawler‘s Grocery in the Sylva Rena community. She loved her family and donating her time at Sylva Rena Baptist Church, where she had her membership.

Visitation is planned for Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Sylva Rena Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Sylva Rena Baptist Church Cemetery.

Karan is survived by two sons, Robert Lawler (Kim) of Lakeland , TN and David Lawler (Tammy) of Gravette AR; as well as 4 grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Rebekah and Hannah

In addition to her parents, Karan was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Larry Lawler; two sisters, Marylyn Gregory and Linda Railes; one half-sister, Vivian McCrary; and one brother, Alburn Church Jr.
