Katie Florence Partain

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Katie Florence Partain, who was 85 years old and resided in Water Valley, MS. Ms.Partain passed away on December 19, 2023, while under the care of Yalobusha General Nursing Home.

Katie was born on July 8, 1938, in Oxford, Mississippi to the late Lemuel Chambless and Linder Tubbs Chambless. Katie spent many years as a Registered Nurse, and was married to Robert Partain, with whom she shared a love of traveling. Additionally, she was an active member of the Eastern Star Chapter #5 of Water Valley.

Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 11:00:00 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2023 with Bro. Brennan Allen and Bro. Jerry King officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include her son Lemuel "Bud" McCluskey (Wanda) of Water Valley, MS; sisters, Barbara Blevins (Mike) of Crystal Beach, TX, Linda Hinkle (Johnny) of Kings Mountain, KY and Becky Black (Larry) of Houston, MS; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Preceding Katie in death were her first husband, Earnest Lee McCluskey Sr.; Her second husband, Robert Partain; sons, Earnest Lee McCluskey Jr. and David Lee McCluskey; parents, L.D. Chambles, Sr and Linder Mae Tubbs Chambless; 4 sisters, Ruthie Cook, Janice Taylor, Kathy Petit, and Gloria Howard and 1 brother, L. D. Chambless, Jr.
