Kimberly Shelton

Kimberly “Kim” Elizabeth Shelton left her earthly home on October 28, 2024, at Coles Point in Sardis, Mississippi at the age of 45. Kim was born on July 15, 1979, in Water Valley, Mississippi to Darby Jean Thompson and Joel Richard Shelton. Kim was a member of Jumpers Chapel, where she recommitted to her faith and was baptized on June 5, 2022. She attended Water Valley High School before leaving school to get her GED. After obtaining her GED, she attended Northwest Mississippi Community College where she earned a degree in Child Development. Kim had a passion for working for children, but due to poor health, she was unable to put her degree to use. Kim was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who spent as much time as she could making memories with those she loved. She will forever be remembered for her love of children, huge heart, and giving nature.

Kim is survived by her father, Joel (Ann) Shelton; three children, Brooke (Thomas) Maloch, Blake (Taylor) Little, and Ethan (Jae) Prestridge; a bonus son, Wesley (Chelsea) Prestridge; five grandchildren, Keeley Maloch, Winston Maloch, Dean Maloch, Caroline “Care Bear” Little, and Amelia Prestridge; two brothers, Kristopher (Angie) Shelton and Jacob (Trina) Shelton; three bonus sisters, Amanda (Will) Provine, Elizabeth Gilpin, and Vanessa (Wallace) Rayburn; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Kim is preceded in death by her grandparents, Nancy and Aubrey Ray Thompson and Betty and James Shelton, her mother Darby Thompson Shelton; and one sister Kasey “Doodle” Lynn Shelton.

A memorial service will be held November 9, 2024 at Gatewood Church of God in Coffeeville, Mississippi at 11:00 AM, officiated by Bro. Michael Haas (Gatewood Church of God) and Bro. Bobby Jones (JUmper’s Chapel). Those that wish to contribute to Kim’s Memory in lieu of flowers are asked to make a donation to a charity of their choice in her name.
