Lennese Jones Baddley, age 88, died peacefully Friday, February 27th at Bruce Community Living Center, Bruce, MS. She was born in Coffeeville, MS on June 1, 1937 to David Ray and Cordelia Irene Chapman Jones.
On September 2, 1954, Lennese married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Aaron Guy Baddley, Jr. and they moved to Memphis, TN. For 71 years, Lennese and Aaron worked side by side and together they built a truck repair business, raised three children and devoted their lives to actively serving the Lord.
Lennese was quiet, humble and had a strong faith in the Lord. She loved studying the Word and she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and helped with church bus ministry for many years. Lennese was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Horn Lake, MS before moving to Bruce and had recently moved her membership to Parker Baptist Church in Bruce, MS.
Lennese was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed traveling, crafting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Lennese is survived by her husband, Aaron Guy Baddley, Jr; her son, Aaron Guy Baddley, III and his wife, Heather of Hernando, MS; her daughter, Brenda and her husband, Steve Gulledge ofBruce, MS; her grandsons, Joel (Laura) Gulledge of Germantown, TN; Tyler Baddley and Cayce Baddley; her granddaughters,Adrienne Gulledge Shelton of Dallas, TX; Samantha (Jeff) Henslee and Savannah (Corey) Hale of Memphis, TN; her great grandsons, Jacob Smith of Ft. Collins, CO and Ian Shelton of New Mexico; Hunter Henslee, Harrison Hale of Memphis, TN; and her newest great granddaughter, Leighton Olivia Hale of Memphis, TN; Her sisters: Hilma Newton, Sandra (Billy) Haynes, Delores (Butch) Meeks, Phyllis (Steve) Hughes; and her brother, Johnny Jones; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Andrew Baddley.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Bruce Community Living Center and Gentiva Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion shown to our loved one and to our family.
In honor of Lennese's passion for serving the Lord, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to:
