Lynn Allen Fly, a man of profound integrity, unwavering strength, and boundless love, passed peacefully from this world on April 7th at Yalobusha Nursing Home, leaving a legacy that will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on February 28, 1944, in the gentle embrace of Coffeeville, MS, Lynn's life was a testament to service, devotion, and the simple joys that life offers. Lynn was the beloved son of Bilbo and Earline Fly, whose values and compassion he carried forward throughout his 82 years.

Predeceased by his parents, his brothers Gerald, Harold, Jimmy, and Bob Fly, his cherished son Reggie Fly, and grandson Grayson Fly, Lynn's journey was accompanied by both fond memories and profound love for those who went before him.

In 1968, Lynn embarked on a new chapter of his life, marrying the love of his life, Lylia Ann Ross, on November 29. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising their children Gina Fly, Reggie Fly, and later in life embracing Lynn's daughter Tammy (Steve) Whitaker. Lynn was the proud grandfather to Webb (Jocelyn) Anderson; Ethan (Ann) Anderson; Maeci (Drew) Vaske, Nick (Hannah) Whitaker, and Steven (Amber) Whitaker. His great-grandchildren, John Ryder, Betts, Emma, Max, Sophia, Liam, Poppy, Maisie, and Lottie were the lights of his life, bringing him endless joy and a sense of fulfillment.

Lynn's dedication to serving his community was evident in his career as a Deputy Sheriff for Yalobusha County, where he earned the affectionate nickname "Papa Fly" from the youth he so ardently protected. His commitment continued in DeSoto County, where he fostered friendships and served with distinction until his well-deserved retirement.

Lynn's patriotic spirit was further exemplified through his service in the Mississippi National Guard, where he demonstrated his dedication to the nation he loved.

Beyond his professional life, Lynn found solace and joy in nature. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace in the Mississippi landscapes he called home. His enthusiasm for Mississippi State football and the Dallas Cowboys was infectious, often shared with family and friends over spirited discussions and gatherings.

Lynn is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Lylia, his daughters, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as his sister Eleanor Boyle and a brother John Fly and a host of nieces and nephews. Their continued love and shared memories will carry his spirit forward.

Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A service to honor Lynn's remarkable life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, with Rev. Andrew Miller officiating.
