Martha Teresa Zampella

Martha Teresa Zampella, age 80, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Wednesday, January 24, 2019 at Yalobusha General Hospital with her family by her side. She was born April 17, 1938 in Water Valley to the late Thomas and Jewel Lantrip Scanlon.
Martha spent her career working in the clerical field and eventually retiring from Whirlpool in Oxford, MS. Her joys were many, which included camping, swimming, painting, cooking her famous Lasagna and spending time with her dog Brandy.
But nothing compared to the love she had for family, especially her grandchildren.

A graveside service is planned for Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Bro. David Freeman presiding.

Martha is survived by one daughter, Carmela Gordon of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Philip Zampella (Donna) of Water Valley, MS, and Antimo Zampella (Tammy) of Oxford, MS; one brother, Edward Scanlon (Virginia) of Water Valley, MS; as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Scanlon.
