Michael Anthony Cramer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Cramer, born on July 4, 1948, in Tennessee. Michael, a cherished father, consummate outdoorsman, and skilled welder, pipe fitter and furniture maker, left this world on May 18, 2026, at the age of 77, in Water Valley, Mississippi.

Michael was a man of many talents and passions. After earning his high school diploma, he dedicated his life to his craft, working for the City of Memphis before retiring from the University of Mississippi. His hands were always busy, whether he was working in municipal maintenance or running Pine Valley Saw Mill, a venture that showcased his love for hard work and craftsmanship.

Beyond the job site, Michael was happiest outdoors. He had a deep love for crappie fishing and hunting, often disappearing for hours, only to come home with stories that delighted his family.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Kenny) Pilkington of Burlison, TN; two grandchildren, Haley Pilkington, and Kevin (Catherine) Pilkington; and two great-grandchildren, Lillith and Nicholas Pilkington; one sister, Kathy Fisher; as well as many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts and fond recollections of fishing trips and family gatherings. He will be missed deeply-not just for his skills but for his kindness, humor, and the love he radiated toward those around him.

A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026 starting at 10:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a life well-lived.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cramer; son, David Cramer; parents, Leo Cramer, Florence (Yates) Cramer.
