With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Steven Stricklin, who left us on March 31, 2026, at the age of 46. Born on May 15, 1979, in Water Valley, Mississippi, Michael was a beloved son, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Growing up in Water Valley, Michael graduated from Water Valley High School in 1997, where he made many lifelong friends and memories. Known for his gentle spirit and willingness to help others, he dedicated his time to working in healthcare as a janitor, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for those in need. Michael also found joy in giving back to the community, working at the local food pantry and lending a hand at his church.
Michael had a knack for detailing vehicles and worked at Cannon Motors, where he took pride in his work and was always willing to pitch in wherever needed. He had a passion for collecting Hot Wheels and model cars, a hobby that brought him great joy and served as a testament to his playful spirit.
Michael is survived by his loving mother, Ruth Stricklin, and his brother, Kerry Stricklin. He was preceded in death by his father, James Stricklin, and beloved brother, James Lamar Stricklin. The love shared among the Stricklin family is a lasting bond that will forever remain in their hearts.
In honor of Michael's life, a memorial service will take place Freedom Place Church located at 1303 Mississippi 7, Water Valley, MS 38965 Wednesday, April 8, 2026 starting at 6:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life, share stories, and support one another in their grief.
Michael will be remembered for his big heart, unwavering support of family and friends, and his ability to find joy in the little things. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
