Sharron Surrette

Neva Sharron Surrette, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, left this world on November 9, 2025, at the Yalobusha County Hospital in Water Valley, Mississippi. Born in Tillatoba, Mississippi, Sharron began her working career at Big Yank, where she honed her skills as a seamstress, bringing warmth and care to everyone through her passion for garment production.

In 1967, Sharron married Jerry Surrette, at Camp Ground Church. Together, they created a welcoming haven for their community by owning and operating Wood and Miller clothing store in Water Valley, where Sharron's strong will and sense of right and wrong shone through in every interaction.

Sharron was known for her nurturing spirit; she cherished her time spent sitting with the elderly and creating various crafts. Those who knew her were familiar with her love for tending to her chickens and dogs, but the true centerpiece of her life was her family.

A visitation will take place Monday, November 17th at Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. A funeral service will take place at the same location beginning at 12:00 noon. Sharron will be laid to rest at her final resting place, in Sylva Rena cemetery following the service.

As we gather to celebrate Sharron's life, let us remember her strength, kindness, and the love she freely gave to those around her. In honoring her memory, we hold on dearly to the impact she had on our lives. She will forever remain in our hearts.

Sharron is survived by two sons, Breck Surrette (Tosha) of Water Valley, MS, Brad Surrette of Coffeeville, MS; four grandchildren, Gage Heath Moss, Taryn Elizabeth Surette, Hanna Nicole Simpson (Levi), Scarlet Rochelle Surette; two great grandchildren; and two siblings.

Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, William and Opal Arbuckle ; one daughter, Shannon Jahnaee' Cain, and 8 siblings.
