It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patsy Poe Elliott, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on August 2, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 11, 1945, in Grenada, Mississippi, Patsy was a cherished member of the Water Valley community and a shining example of warmth, kindness, and joy to all who knew her.
Patsy graduated from Water Valley High School in 1964, where she not only excelled academically but also served as a spirited cheerleader and actively participated in pageants, showcasing her vibrant personality. Her pursuit of knowledge continued as she attended Northwest Community College, where she completed computer classes, a testament to her lifelong love of learning.
Patsy's professional journey included notable contributions in the commercial manufacturing industry, working for esteemed businesses such as B&M Building Supply under the guidance of John and Sarah McMinn and at Bondafoam Inc. with Sonny Lollar. Her colleagues and customers alike will remember her for her infectious smile and her generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand.
An avid flower gardener and passionate cook and baker, Patsy created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter. She was particularly devoted to her family, and her happy disposition drew everyone to her like a magnet.
Patsy is survived by her loving daughters, Elaine Varner (Greg) of Oxford and Mary Grace Elliott of Batesville, and her cherished grandchildren, Brittany Williams (Joey) of Oxford and Wilson Varner. Moreover, she found immense joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Layla Grace Burrell and Bowen Williams. She also leaves behind her sister, Barbara Griffin of Oakland, MS, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness.
A visitation will be held in her honor on August 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, followed by a celebratory funeral service at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Patsy will be laid to rest in a burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, where her warmth and love will forever be remembered.
As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Patsy Poe Elliott, we honor the joy she brought to our lives and the lasting impact she made on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Poe and Mary Poe; the father of her children, Joe Elliott; and a nephew, Chad Griffin.
