Paul West

With heavy hearts, we announce the forthcoming funeral services for Paul Glenn West, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished member of the Water Valley and Ackerman communities. Paul, born on August 27, 1951, in Marks, MS, peacefully departed from this world on August 1, 2024, at his residence in Ackerman, MS, at the age of 72.

Paul dedicated his career to the insurance industry, showcasing his talent as a diligent salesman. His commitment and hard work were exemplified throughout his tenure and even after he retired from Roseburg Forrest Products. His warm personality and unwavering dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients.

In the embrace of love, Paul married the late Connie Wade West in November 1981, and together they shared 31 beautiful years marked by love and companionship until Connie's passing in 2012. His joy knew no bounds in their union and he treasured every moment spent with his dear wife. Paul's devotion spanned beyond his professional life into his personal passions. He found solace in fishing excursions, engaging in card games, and camaraderie at the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Time spent with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter Layla, brought him immense joy and fulfillment. 

Paul is survived by his beloved daughter Jessica West Pitre and her husband Clifford of New Orleans, LA, and his adored son Kevin West and his wife Kayla of Water Valley, MS. His granddaughter Layla Harwell holds a special place in his heart, having brought light and laughter to his life. Paul's wife, Peggy Hodges of Ackerman, MS; and his siblings - Pete, Thomas, Steve, and Sam West, Gail Williams, Faye Bingham, and Omy Wallace - along with numerous nieces and nephews, mourn his passing and honor his memory. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, F.G. and Betty Ellen West; his first wife, Connie; and his sister Cathy Russel.

Funeral services to commemorate Paul's life will take place at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The visitation will begin at 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Paul's honor to the Veterans of Foreign Wars - a cause close to his heart.
