Paul Adams Williams, JR, affectionately known as "Hoppy" was born on April 3, 1958, in Water Valley, MS and passed away on June 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after an extended illness.
Being born in Water Valley, Hoppy graduated from Yalobusha Academy in 1976. He attended Northwest Community College and then transferred to Hinds Community College and earned his degree as an electrician under the careful teachings of his Uncle Fred.
Hoppy specialized in his craft as a lineman, a profession he held at Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association for an impressive 43 years until his retirement in 2023.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Charleston, MS. Visitation will begin at 12PM and the service will begin immediately following at 2PM. Burial will be at Broom Cemetery, Coffeeville, MS. Seven Oaks Funeral Home will oversee arrangements.
He is survived in life by his loving wife of 16 years, Cathy Williams; his children, Jarrett, Andy (Amanda), Sarah (Timmy), Melanie (Charlie); five granddaughters, Aubree, Ella, Averee Jo, Neely and Hannah; and 3 great-grandchildren, Reece, Lila and Braxton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Thelma Williams; one half-sister, Peggy Lewis.
When not working Hoppy loved hunting, and keeping up his land to hunt and spending time with his family.
Memorial donations may be made in Hoppy's honor to the National Cancer Society, St Jude's Children's Hospital or Broom Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS.
