Richard Eugene Hood

Richard Eugene Hood, age 51, of Water Valley, MS died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born March 18, 1968 in Denham Springs, LA to James and Betty (Flannigan) Hood. Richard started his working career in the trades as a carpenter, and later started driving a truck for Phillip Hall Trucking. He enjoyed gardening, grilling and watching LSU and New Orleans Saints Football.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Services start immediately following at 12:00 Noon in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery in Banner, MS with Blake Galloway, Rocky Smith, Butch Avants, Dennis Hodge, John Henderson, and Henry Dale Hendricks serving as pallbearers.

Richard is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Lethy Hood; three sons, Steven Hood, Andy Hood, both of Livingston, LA, and Joey Hood of Water Valley, MS; his father, James Hood of Kentwood, LA; his mother Betty Flannigan of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Jimmy Hood (Lee Ann) of Water Valley, MS, Dennis Hood (Liane) of Pine Grove, LA; and one grand-daughter, Addyson Hood.
