Ruby Inez Tutor

Ruby Inez Tutor, a beloved member of the Water Valley community, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at the Water Valley Nursing Home. Born on June 26, 1935, Inez dedicated her life to nurturing both her family and her community.

Inez was a devoted teaching assistant at the North Mississippi Regional Center, where her kindness and commitment touched the hearts of many until her retirement in 2006. Beyond her professional endeavors, she was known for her love of children, often babysitting for families in the neighborhood and treating each child like her own.

A cherished member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Inez found joy in her church family and their shared experiences. She was a woman of many hobbies, from the simple pleasure of reading and piecing together puzzles to the satisfaction of tending to her vegetable garden. Her nurturing spirit flourished in every aspect of her life.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring a remarkable woman who lovingly embraced life and touched so many with her gentle spirit. She will be laid to rest in the Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, a place that holds cherished memories for her and her loved ones.

She is survived by one sister, Shirley Smith of Madison, Alabama; two sons, David Huckaby(Melanie) of Banner, Ms. and Brent Huckaby (Jennifer )of Memphis, Tennessee; two daughters, Dianne Webb (David) of Jackson, Mississippi, Barbara Adams of Ripley Tennessee; nine grandchildren, USAF retired Val Webb, Janice Webb Fulton (Bradley) of Jackson, Ms., Terry Crow Jr. (Heather) of Lucedale, Mississippi, Andy Crow of Water Valley Mississippi, Jennifer Perry (Mike) of Vancleave, Mississippi, David Huckaby Jr. (Tori) of Oxford, Mississippi, Daniel Huckaby (Kelly) of Oxford, Mississippi, Bobby Huckaby of Dublin, Georgia, Angela Newman (Chad) of Water Valley, Mississippi; Nine great grandchildren, Lindsay Crow, Andrew Crow, Michael Crow, Kristal Stuckey, Landyn Perry, Ethan Crow, Zella Fulton, Annie Fulton, Alex Beck, and Jacob Beck. As well as a dear friend, Donna Wade of Oxford Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Dorothy Lambert, Evelyn Ivy, and Mary Cother ; three brothers, Jerry Lambert, George Lambert, and Lee Lambert, two sons James Huckaby Jr, and Johnny Wayne Huckaby (JW).
