Thomas Scott Card

Early on a beautiful summer morning Thomas went to rest high on that
mountain. His days on earth were done and he is now at peace with the Lord.
Thomas was born on February 1, 1981 to Linda Card (Peacock) in Shelby, MS.
He departed this world on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in Water Valley, MS.
Thomas was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was never happier than when
he fished at Guy Dale Shaw's pond. Whether hunting deer, ducks, or squirrels,
it didn't matter to him, he just liked being in the woods or on the lake. Thomas
especially looked forward to opening squirrel season at Howell's Hunting Camp
East of Eden.
Thomas loved to eat and he wasnt picky, his favorites being Mama's
fried pork chops and Meme's bbq chicken and cornbread dressing. Give him a
chocolate pie and it would be gone in no time.
Thomas earned his degree from NWCC in Tool and Dye and was working
at Valley Tool at the time of his death. He was a member of Jumpers Chapel
Congregational Methodist Church where his remains will be at rest.

Visitation is planned for Monday, September 28, 2020 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks.

Thomas leaves behind his wife, Lynne Sims-Card of Brandon, MS. His son,
Brayden Scott Card also of Brandon and a daughter Carolyne Taylor Card of
Grenada, MS. His mother and step-father, Linda and Randy Peacock of
Coffeeville, MS and father and step-mother, Thomas Scott “Sam” Goodwin and
Phyllis Goodwin of Water Valley, MS. Two brothers, Patrick (Suzanne) Card
of Shreveport, LA. and Randy Peacock Jr. of Water Valley, MS. Four sisters,
Missy (Kevin) Kimzey of Water Valley, MS; Joy (Michael) Bratcher of Brandon,
MS; Audrey Kirkland of Charlotte, NC; and Ashley Crowe of New Albany, MS.
Numerous nieces and nephews.

Seven Oaks Funeral Home’s number one priority during these unprecedented times, is the health of our staff, our families, our visitors, and our community. With this in mind, we are adhering to guidelines set forth by the CDC, Gov. Tate Reeves, and the Mississippi Department of Health. At this time, we are asking everyone to support the limited gathering and visitation policies mandated by our government officials. We are also asking everyone to comply with the required social distancing space of six feet, as well as advising against intimate contact such as, hand-shaking, hugging, and kissing. Although it is not presently required, we are encouraging the use of face masks.
