Thomas Marvin Davis

Thomas Marvin Davis, age 84, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Friday, June 12, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford with family by his side. He was born March 20, 1936, in Winona, MS to the late Thomas and Lucille (Rosemond) Davis. After graduating from school, Thomas joined the Navy, and then the National Gaurd, where he served, and defended, our country in Vietnam, as well as Korea. After his faithful service, Thomas came home and began driving a truck, a passion that he had the remainder of his life. Thomas was always on the ready with a joke, which was one of the simple pleasures in his life. He also enjoyed putting together puzzles with his wife Ann, watching western movies and wrestling, and never passed up the opportunity to eat a Philly cheesesteak at Subway. Thomas was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, June 16, 2020, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A service to honor Thomas’ life will be Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Marvin DuBose, and Rev. Keith Burney officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery with Thomas Davis, JR, Brandon Davis, Kenneth Sigler, Jonathan DuBose, James Davis, and Brian Davis serving as pallbearers.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Ann Davis; two sons, Thomas Davis, JR (Rose) of Water Valley, MS, Joe Davis of Searcy, AR; three daughters, Betty Boyd of Foley, AL, Dianne DuBose (Marvin) of Devers, TX, Tammy Perkins (James) of Coffeeville, MS; three step-children, Johnny Tidwell, Dale Tidwell, Dianne Goodrum (Jeff), all of Water Valley, MS; twenty grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Davis; two brothers, Bobby Glenn Davis, David Earl Davis; and three step-children, Margaret Tidwell, Ricky Tidwell, and Betty Tidwell.
