It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vaiden Ann McCachren, age 60, on July 11, 2026. Born on June 4, 1966, in Memphis, TN, Ann was a vibrant and loving soul who dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse. She began her career at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford, MS, while pursuing her nursing degree, a testament to her unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of those around her.
Vaiden was known for her tenacity and enthusiasm, which shone brightly during her years as an athlete at Lafayette High School in Oxford, MS. She excelled in basketball and track, reflecting her spirited personality and competitive nature. Throughout her life, Ann embraced the outdoors, finding joy in crappie and bass fishing, as well as deer hunting. She also had a creative side, with a passion for drawing and a knack for cooking, especially her beloved homemade yeast rolls, which will be cherished in the memories of family and friends.
Vaiden is survived by her devoted husband, Alex McCachren, and her loving children, Josh Smith, Charles "Chop" (Carol) Bradley, Dillon McCachren, and Carley Jane Myrick. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Phyllis Smith Haley (Tom), Ruth Katrina Smith, Wanda Faye Smith Littlejohn, Kandy Jane Smith, and Joseph Mark Miles, along with her six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whose lives she touched.
As we celebrate Vaiden's life, we invite family and friends to join us in honoring her memory. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, with visitation preceding the service at 12:00 PM. where we will remember her spirit and the love she brought to all our lives.
In this time of sorrow, let us reflect on the joy and love Vaiden shared with us, and in her honor, may we cherish the memories and continue to spread kindness, just as she did.
Vaiden was preceded in death by her parents, James Smith and Wanda (Fike) Smith.
